Southampton,
Pennsylvania – November 4, 2002: ANSHealth Solutions
(ANSHealth), Inc., an exclusive provider of state-of-the-art
ePharmacy solutions today announced the release of
ePostRx™
version 2.0.
ePostRx™ is an enterprise solution that allows healthcare
pharmacy partners to communicate and manage the Point-to-Point
electronic transfer of NCPDP SCRIPT data among business partners,
store locations and workflow queues. Developed using the latest
Java and Internet security technologies, ePostRx™ preserves
a pharmacy’s infrastructure investment by providing
a middleware solution that can electronically interconnect
store locations, improve workflow and connect to the new electronic
prescription hubs like RxHub and SureScripts.
According to John Strecker, President and CEO of ANSHealth,
"The healthcare pharmacy market understands there are
tremendous cost savings in processing and managing prescriptions
electronically, as well as inherent advantages such as enhanced
workflow and increased patient safety and convenience. Unfortunately,
the industry has been slow to adopt this new medium because
current solutions don’t address the operational impact
to the pharmacy and are too costly, antiquated and proprietary.
ePostRx™ addresses these issues by providing a cost
effective, open and secure middleware solution that is easily
configurable to mirror a pharmacy’s business environment".
The new release extends the core SCRIPT engine and provides
many new features such as a redesigned user interface; Full
support for all industry NCPDP SCRIPT implementations, including
NCPDP, RxHub and SureScripts; Real-time translation between
SCRIPT version implementations; Support for the new NCPDP
Provider Broadcast and Query (PBR) transaction; Support for
RxHub Patient Medication History, Formulary Status and Point-to-Point
Transactions; Expanded Rule Processing Engine that allows
the creation of user defined rules that trigger on SCRIPT
content to Reject, Re-direct or Forward the transaction, or
execute a predefined function(s). Version 2.0 also includes
ePostRx-WebConnect™, a web component that can be integrated
into any business portal to provide technician access to pharmacy-to-physician
SCRIPT transactions.
Strecker went on to say, "It’s an exciting time
for ANSHealth. Just as the Internet economy has changed the
way businesses acquire and deliver goods and services, ePharmacy
will revolutionize how pharmacy businesses communicate and
manage the operational flow of electronic prescriptions. We
believe ePostRx™ will be a key component in ensuring
their success".
